I love Pairs

I will have to say I have a small problem with pairs...I love them!  I love pairs of chairs, demi-lunes, lamps and yes - I even love pairs of art...I actually had a gallery talk me out of getting a pair of lithographs and I regret it to this day that I don't have the "PAIR".  I know I know odd things are maybe better- a little more unexpected...I AGREE!  

But I still love pairs and the symmetry they have and can create and the way they make everything seem a little more organized...I just can't help myself....

This summer I worked on a living room for an amazing builder (Bradley and Niki Davidson).  They have great taste in building and design.  What I love about their style is that they are realistic about what families need in their living spaces - open with a great flow- and super attractive.  Check out their website...

New York State of Mind

Very productive trip to NYC...some very cool finds in fabric and trim..as well as some spectacular light fixtures...and I got to catch up with an old friend!

I LOVE how Miles Redd has a sense of humor in his design - his rooms are never too serious...and that is how I feel about design - it should be fun!  Making your surroundings beautiful should be an exciting process - not stuffy and over thought!

Custom Mirror

Check out my new custom mirror!  Designed by me and fabricated and installed by AC GLASS.  It needs a few more coats of paint- but it has totally transformed my living room.  I LOVE it!  You can have one too- in any shape or size and the mirror can be done plain or antiqued.  The possibilities are endless...

Fabulous Chair

This fabulous chair is going to be up for grabs at the Collegiate School Winter Party Auction this February.  The yummy teal leather is courtesy of Moore and Giles Inc and the chair is a custom design from RWID!  This chair would give your entrance hall a pop and could stand on its own in your living room...it would also be the PERFECT desk chair.

Camping Out

I have an installation the rest of the week...an amazing client and an amazing house!  So I will be camping out at her house for the next few days.  Directing movers and giving moral support...moving is EXHAUSTING but so worth it in the end..

Retreat

I have several clients that have been adding bathrooms or redoing the ones they have.  Bathrooms can be so fun and as a mother of small children mine has become one of the only places to get away!  Making it beautiful is becoming a necessity these days....

The Moorish Lines and Mounted Sconces make this bathroom feel like heaven....

Here is my inspiration of the week....

My obsession with Jeffrey Bilhuber continues - I am starting to feel like Rosie O'Donnell when she was obsessed with Tom Cruise during her talk show years.  Does anyone remember her "Tommy Can You Hear Me" button should would press during her show?  I need a "Jeffrey Can You Hear Me" button!

What Color is Your

Front Door....I am so interested to know the color everyone has painted their front door.  It is a question that clients always are thinking about and Richmond, Va is definitely a "put some color on your front door" kind of town.  Some houses can pull if off, others need to go neutral.
